MANAGEMENT TEAM

PRINCIPAL

Jody Rasch

Jody Rasch has over 30 years experience in the financial markets.  He began his career in the corporate treasury departments of two Fortune 500 companies.  He also worked in the derivatives group at Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) in New York.  Mr. Rasch then founded Financial Directions Inc., which provided financial training for investment and commercial banks in the U.S., Canada, South America, Europe and Asia.  The company was eventually acquired by Wide Learning Inc., a UK-based e-learning company.  Mr. Rasch is currently employed by Moody’s Investors Service’s New Products Group, where he analyzes various business opportunities and is in charge of the service that provides financial information on the corporations rated by Moody’s.

Mr. Rasch holds a BA degree in economics from the University of Michigan and an MBA in finance from New York University.  Mr. Rasch has been vegetarian since 1984 and vegan since 2006.

ADVISORS

Abe Goldstein

Abe Goldstein is currently a Director and Senior Credit Consultant at Moody’s Corporation and has over 25 years of experience in international financings and investments.

Prior to Moody’s, Abe was President and Managing Director of InterEquity Capital Partners, a venture fund making debt and equity investments in growth businesses and technologies, including activities in such diverse fields as media, telecommunications, healthcare, software, water treatment, and food service. In this capacity, he formed unique strategies for due diligence and financial analysis in unfamiliar industries, oversaw the development of enterprises from start-up phase through maturity, and fashioned creative exit outcomes for many companies. This process included guiding a number of investments through the steps of initial public offerings.

Abe also served as Senior Manager and Vice President in the Leveraged Buyout group at CIBC. There he was involved in analyzing and implementing some of the largest and most prominent takeovers and restructurings in history, among these RJR Nabisco, Levi Strauss, Beatrice, Shoney’s, and HCA. He was also charged with managing a bank fund for investment in private equity transactions.

He began his career at Continental Illinois National Bank, where he worked in the Mergers and Acquisitions Advisory division. In that role, he assisted a number of major international corporations in the buying and selling of businesses and devoted significant effort to such activities as strategic planning, searching and screening, negotiation, and valuation.

Abe has a PhD from the University of Toronto and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He has taught at the graduate and undergraduate level, and he consults for Pace University where he sits on the dissertation committees for doctoral candidates.

Henry Shilling

Henry Shilling is currently a Senior Vice President of the Global Managed Funds business at Moody’s Investors Service, where he has concentrated on the evaluation and analysis of mutual funds, various other investment vehicles as well as asset management firms, both in the U.S. and overseas.  He has over 37 years experience in the financial markets.  Prior to Moody’s he was at Lipper Analytical Securities where he was Involved in new product development, including the development of the Mutual Funds Handbook.  He also produced ongoing and special research studies, engaged in consulting assignments and maintained ongoing relationships with members of the financial media.  Among his publications are: The International Guide to Securities Market Indices which was published in 1996 by International Publishing Corp., Chicago, Illinois. Henry also wrote the “Investing in Index Mutual Funds” chapter of Frank Fabozzi’s Information Management Network’s Perspectives on Equity Indexing: Updated and Expanded Second Edition.

Henry earned a B.A. in economics from Lehman College, City University of New York in 1971.

Ann Parkin

Ann Parkin is an animal advocate working with various animal protection organizations.  She is currently involved in vegan outreach and education.  She holds a BFA from New York University and a JD degree from New York University School of Law.  She has been a vegetarian for 25 years and a vegan since 2006.
